BELLBIRDS & IRIS
PATTERN

Organic and ornate, graceful and dynamic, with curving and swooping lines; this design depicts Bellbirds (or Korimakos) invading a field of Iris, Forget-me-Nots and Lilies of the Valley. The Bellbird is endemic to New Zealand and is easily recognisable by its song, which Captain Cook once describedas sounding ‘like small bells exquisitely tuned’. The artist fashioned this pattern after encountering Bellbirds in the Able Tasman National Park. She had gone on four day hike where she was delighted by the company of these delicate birds.

This design comes in an array of organic color scheme which enhances the naturalism of the artist’s depiction of flowers and leaves.
